As we say goodbye to winter, it’s time to focus on your outdoor living space, the perfect place for entertaining. No matter the size of your planting space, get ready now and reap the rewards in the warmer months ahead. Here are a few ideas to get you started whether you have a garden, balcony, terrace or no outside space at all!

Gardens
If you are a keen gardener, or just love to light up the BBQ, here are some ideas to prepare your garden for summer.
- Spring clean – Clear up any fallen leaves or debris on your lawn and tidy up those boarders. Jet wash your patio and prepare your lawn for its first cut!
- Care for your plants – Tidy up your shrubs and trees to keep them healthy and optimize the production of flowers and berries.
- Seed sowing time – If you are planning to brighten up your garden with plants or create a veggie patch, the first step is to sow your seeds. Plant your seeds in well-drained soil in an area of the garden that gets a good amount of sunlight. You may need to put down some compost depending on the soil. Some easy-to-maintain flowers, vegetables and herbs to sow are:
- Radishes (sow from February)
- Sunflowers (sow from March to May)
- Nasturtium (sow from April to May)
- Marigolds (sow from February to May)
- Parsley (sow from March to May)
- Sweet peas (sow in March or April)
- Create an entertainment area – This could just be a chair or two to sit out and enjoy the sun. Try adding lights to brighten up the area, garden furniture accessorized with cushions to give it a comfy feel, plant pots to add a bit of colour or a cover such as a pergola or gazebo so the rain doesn’t spoil the fun!
